Application and selection overview
Instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, level and process monitoring applications. We help match transmitters, sensors and process instruments with the required range, connection and signal type.
Key parameters to confirm
| Item | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Measurement task | Pressure, temperature, flow, level or analysis, including normal, minimum and maximum values. |
| Process conditions | Medium, density, viscosity, corrosiveness, solids, pressure and temperature. |
| Installation | Thread, flange, sanitary fitting, insertion length, straight run and orientation. |
| Signal and system | 4–20 mA, HART, fieldbus, pulse, switch output, supply and DCS/PLC interface. |
| Performance and compliance | Accuracy, repeatability, response, enclosure, hazardous area, SIL and calibration documents. |
RFQ checklist
- Send the instrument datasheet, P&ID tag, full model and nameplate.
- State normal, design and limit conditions rather than one set point.
- Confirm all wetted materials, seals and process-connection standards.
- List display, remote transmission, protocol, certificates and accessories.
Common mistakes and risks
- Selecting by range only and ignoring medium, temperature, installation and response.
- Incompatible flange, thread, signal or hazardous-area scheme preventing use.
- Treating laboratory accuracy as total installed measurement uncertainty.
Frequently asked questions
Can the old model be quoted directly?
It can be identified first, but process and connection data are still recommended because the configuration may be obsolete or unsuitable for current conditions.
Is a calibration certificate required?
It depends on the quality system and industry. State traceable calibration, material or pressure-test documents in the RFQ.
What is needed for a hazardous area?
Zone, gas or dust group, temperature class, protection concept and local approval scheme must be confirmed.
