Application and selection overview
Select industrial bearings by load, speed, mounting, environment and lubrication.
Key parameters to confirm
| Item | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Complete designation | Brand, basic designation and every clearance, precision, seal, cage or material suffix. |
| Load and service life | Radial and axial load, shock, continuous or intermittent duty, and target life. |
| Speed and temperature | Normal and maximum speed, ambient temperature, housing temperature and start frequency. |
| Dimensions and fits | Shaft, housing bore, width, shoulders, available space and tolerance requirements. |
| Environment and lubrication | Dust, moisture, corrosive media, washdown conditions, and oil or grease lubrication. |
RFQ checklist
- Provide clear photographs of the bearing marking and equipment nameplate.
- Copy the complete designation without dropping spaces, slashes or suffixes.
- Describe the machine, mounting position, load direction and duty cycle.
- If an alternative brand is acceptable, state the dimensions, life and approvals that must remain unchanged.
Common mistakes and risks
- Supplying only a basic number such as 6205 and omitting C3, 2RS or P5.
- Using a standard seal or grease in a high-speed, hot or contaminated application.
- Ignoring shaft and housing fits, which can cause heat, looseness or premature failure.
Frequently asked questions
Can a model be confirmed from a photograph alone?
A photograph helps, but the full marking, dimensions and machine data are still required because similar-looking bearings can have different internal designs.
Can another brand be used?
An alternative can be evaluated only after dimensions, load rating, speed, clearance, sealing and approvals are compared.
How should spare bearings be stored?
Keep them sealed in original packaging in a dry, vibration-free area and follow the manufacturer guidance for storage life and rotation.
Next step
Send the brand, full designation, quantity, machine application, destination and required date. If the model is incomplete, include marking, nameplate and installed-position photographs.
